This mascara seriously delivered. It gave my lashes amazing length and volume. Perfect for hot days or pool days since it’s waterproof and actually stays put (no smudging or raccoon eyes 👏). What I really loved is that it didn’t feel as heavy as most waterproof mascaras usually do, which is a huge plus. Downside: like any waterproof formula, it does take a bit more effort to remove. I also noticed some lashes sticking together at times, and by the end of the day it could feel slightly heavier. I received this product as part of an educational promotion.

Cool waterproof mascara

When I look for a mascara, I need it to do several things: add volume, length, be ultra-black, and last all day. Recently, since I’ve started going to the pool more often, I also need it to be truly waterproof. I tried the waterproof Size Up mascara from Sephora, and it checks every box. It gives my lashes noticeable volume and extra length, making them look bold and defined. Even after swimming, my mascara stays perfectly in place without smudging. The brush separates lashes beautifully while building volume from the very first coat. For a more dramatic look, I layer up to three coats, and it still looks clean and clump-free. It’s now my go-to mascara for everyday wear and pool days.

Amazing volume

I don't usually wear waterproof mascara but thought I would try to see if it stopped my mascara transferring which is an issue I normally have. This mascara has a great wand that grabs onto smaller lashes and coats them well to leave my lashes curled, defined and held throughout the day without any transfer. I personally double cleanse with an oil cleanser so wyes it is hard to get off but my double cleanse gets it all off great. I would recommend this mascara to anyone that suffers with mascara transferring or panda eyes!

Dramatic look

The Size Up waterproof mascara makes the lashes look great also at the pool or beach. The formula holds up all day and doesn’t smudge, doesn’t flake. It’s great in the city too, especially for the humid days, that ruin all the makeup. The volume is dramatic and the lashes remain lifted and curled until the end of the day. The brush separates them well, they don’t stick together. It definitely gives a more intense effect, and I prefer it not only for the waterproof feature but also for the look. The only thing that I need a strong makeup remover to take it off, but that’s expected with waterproof formulas.

Size up waterproof mascara

So starting with the product packaging. I think the packaging is very simple yet clean looking, nothing too over the top. I thought the product packaging itself was well made because it will stay fully sealed so no air/water gets inside that way it doesn’t get hard and clumpy. It’s also a decent size so it can fit into a smaller sized purse to take with you when you’re on the go. Now for the product itself. I thought it went on really evenly there was no clump/spidery leg looking lashes and it had a really nice pigment. It also did really great in the water after having swam for hours. However I didn’t really see much of a change in size to my lashes. Which is my reason for the three stars. I was expecting it to give my lashes a fuller more volume look but it kind of just left them looking natural. And it was a bit hard to take off even after using my 2 different makeup removers. Overall I would recommend this to those who like a more natural look.

Natural everyday lashes that actually stay put

This waterproof mascara is great when I want my lashes to look neat without doing too much. The wand is slim and easy to control, so it grabs even the smaller lashes and keeps everything separated. The formula feels light and goes on in a thin layer, so my lashes don’t get that heavy or crunchy feeling. It gives a nice boost in length, while the volume and curl are pretty minimal, so the finish stays soft and natural instead of bold. It really shines in how well it holds up. Whether it’s humid, I’m sweating, or I accidentally touch my eyes, it stays in place and doesn’t leave smudges under my eyes. My lashes still look clean by the end of the day. If I rush into a second coat, it can get a bit clumpy, so I like to let the first layer set before adding more. Since it’s waterproof, removal takes a little patience, but cleansing oil breaks it down without too much effort. It’s a solid pick for everyday wear when I want something simple that won’t budge.

A good waterproof mascara

I want to start off with saying I’m a loyal false lashes girly. I wear falsies everyday. It takes a lot for a mascara to wow me. Needless to say this mascara exceeded my expectations so much that I have skipped falsies about 5 days in a row. The mixture of the formula combined with the shape of the wand is just chefs kiss. The wand cotes my lashes evenly while fanning them out perfectly. I have noticed it gives me a lot of volume which is so nice (hence the reason I wear false lashes so frequently). I have tried expensive to inexpensive mascaras and this one is easily one of my favorites. There is also no transfer onto my lids, once the mascara dries it does not move! I do prefer the regular version of this mascara!

Not great

This is the first Sephora mascara that I have tried because I usually stick to brand names. The Size up mascara definitely has a true name because this gives more of a dramatic look than a natural one. The brush is thick and has bristles. The formula is nice but I do wish it was less wet of a formula. Since ithe brush is big and the formula is very wet, it makes applying it difficult. I had a lot of cleaning up to do after applying it to both of my eyes. Also since it’s very wet, it made my lashes clump together with just a few coats. The formula doesn’t seem to be completely waterproof either as my eyes were watering because of allergies and one of my students noticed black under my eyes. It did last during Pilates though somehow. All in all it’s a decent mascara but I will not repurchase it.

Hard to remove and pretty clumpy

This is a solid choice for a waterproof mascara. I typically do not wear waterproof formulas because they are difficult to remove and they make me tug on the delicate skin around my eyes and on the few lashes that I still have. This formula however, worked well and performed as advertised. I tried keeping it on in the shower to see if it would run and it held firm. I will definitely be putting this mascara to work this summer for swimming and sweaty days. It was difficult to take off with a makeup wipe. I would suggest using an oil based makeup remover for a more thorough and gentle experience. The brush has a soft hourglass shape very similar to the Better Than Sex Too Faced brush. It did okay separating my lashes but it did get pretty clumpy after two coats. I received this as part of an educational promotion.

Not for me

I was given the opportunity to sample this waterproof Size Up Mascara. I usually do not wear waterproof mascara so I was a little hesitant, but it lasted and did not transfer. It provided the volume I needed. I just felt that it was difficult to remove which I do mot like. The color was perfect and did lengthen my lashes a little.

Flaked a little

Okay so this is my first time trying out the size up mascara and I got the waterproof and the original as well. The waterproof mascara applied nicely onto my lashes and there was no big clumps to deal with or clean off my lashes. I did feel/saw that it kind of weighed down my curl? Whereas the original size up did not do that. Another thing is that when I looked closely I saw there were little flakes that fell underneath my eye. I am big on waterproof mascara because I’m always yawning or I’m outside at this time of the year my eyes get a little watery. So I’m not sure that I would purchase this myself. Waterproof Size Up Mascara

I’m not naturally blessed with long lashes, and I’ve learned that a higher price tag doesn’t always mean better results. I’ve used Love Your Lift Waterproof before, so I wanted to try the volumizing formula this time. The wand is on the larger side, great for definition with those bristles, but a little easier to smudge if you’re not careful. It gave me noticeable length and some volume. Not as much as I was hoping for, but enough to keep things looking soft and natural. I tried both the regular and waterproof, and the waterproof version is easily my favorite, it holds my curl so much better. Overall, such a solid mascara, especially for the price point. I’m curious to see how it really performs once the heat kicks in.
