It all kind of just blended..

A little goes a long way! This was a fun product, but definitely not for everyday use. When putting it on the colors all just kind of blended into a darkish eye shadow. I wouldn’t necessarily buy this, but it’s not the worst either!

Bold and beautiful

This is a great bold liquid eyeshadow that is perfect for a pop of color all over the lid. I like the color shift in this specific shade and how easy this was to apply. I also think the applicator was very helpful is creating a pseudo wing on my eye. It was relatively long wearing, but did crack a little towards the end of my wear time..

Beginner friendly liquid eyeshadow!

I am a beginner at makeup, but I enjoy experimenting with colors. The Sephora Collection 12H Colorful Special Effects Multichrome Liquid Shadows in Galactic Red is a liquid product that appears more red than brown in the tube, and has no discernible scent. I used the applicator to put a small dot on my eyelid (no primer beforehand), and blended it out with my finger. On application, the formula is easy to blend and stays wet for enough time for me to finish blending. Upon drying, I noticed the eye show appeared more brown with a hint of red on my eyelid. The performance was great—it stayed on all day and I had a reasonably active day with some sweat. At the end of the day, I used my makeup remover towel to get the product off, and it came off pretty easily that way. I feel that this product was great to me as a beginner, and would also be nice for those who don’t necessarily want an extremely bold color.

Not for me

Okay, I really wanted to love this because the idea of a multichrome liquid shadow sounds fun and bold, but this one just didn’t work out for me. The color “Galactic Red” looked super cool online, but in person, it came off way darker than expected—and honestly, it didn’t flatter my pale skin at all. The photos on Sephora’s website are pretty misleading in terms of how the shade actually looks. Formula-wise, it needs some work. There's no built-in primer, so it creases easily in the eye socket and dries way too fast, giving you barely any time to blend. The texture just feels off—kind of tacky—and not in a good way. It ends up being more frustrating than fun to use. All in all, this one’s a no from me. I think it needs a few updates before I’d even think about recommending it to someone else. Pretty liquid eyeshadow

I took away a star because I had issues with some of the shadow coming off when I close my eyes. I do love the color though and it looks great with my eyes open. I think it’s cool how the shade changes in different lighting. The shade I was given has a cool darker cool that could be styled many different ways. Very nice!!

Bright and bold!

I have tried many eyeshadows and this one is by far one of the best that I have tried. The application is smooth and wear is comfortable. There are lightish brown and green tones to this liquid eyeshadow. It does last a good amount of time and I wish it had a little more of a red tone because when I see the name, I was expecting more of a red tone, which I don't see much. The color is bold and bright. It really does stands out. It is smudge proof. After hours of wear, the color held up well together. I do not always wear primer for my eye makeup look, so I like the fact that it lasts a long time without it. I also love that it washes off very easily and it's not hassle. With any cleanser, this eyeshadow melts right off. *I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion*

Impressive color, takes some practice

*This product was provided for promotional purposes in exchange for my honest review. I am really impressed with the color of the eye shadow and the packaging. I struggled a little with this product to get it exactly how I wanted it. Firstly I applied it to the lid with just eyeshadow primer and while the color pay off was nice, the eyeshadow transferred similar to gel liner when not dry but across the whole lid. My second application technique was to add it to the center of my eye over top of powder shadows, this technique stayed in place better but I feel like it impacted the shift of the shadow which was dissapointing. The third application technique was a hybrid of applying the powder shadows below and then blending them to where the liquid shadow was applied which did seem to out perform the other techniques. I overall like the product and think its very pretty and definitely a good addition to any make-up kit but you will have to play around with application techniques.

I wanted to love it...

The colors shift beautifully depending on the light, which gives my eyes a fun, extra dimension. The "red" is actually more of a rust or lighter copper color when applied to the lid. I noticed color changes from an irridescent green to gold and maybe even a slight blue color. Application was a little tricky and I only assume this because I'm not too familiar with applying and blending liquid shadows.The formula glides on smoothly and doesn’t feel heavy or sticky. I used my finger to swipe it on over my eyelids. It dried down fairly quickly, which I find to be part of the reason why I tend to use other formulas of eyeshadows. I feel I cant get as even of a look for both eyes as I would have, or prefer to have, with a stick or powder shadow. It left me feeling rushed or in a panic to apply so it didnt dry and leave me with a non uniform look. It did hold up surprisingly well throughout the day. I didn’t notice any fading or creasing, even after hours of wear. I received several compliments when I wore it, which didnt make me feel as worried about how my application turned out. This shadow definitely adds some uniqueness to your makeup routine. The color of the actual shadow, as well as, the color shift itself, was fun and it allows you to wear it with so many different combinations. Apart from loving the color/s, however, I don't think I'd purchase this eyeshadow on my own dime. *This product was provided for promotional purposes in exchange for my honest review.

Creases when layered

As an Esthetician with a background in makeup artistry I love a good chrome shadow. The shade galactic red is gorgeous in the tube but on the actual lid it definitely reads as a duochrome rather than a multichrome. The formula is not the best tbh. It doesn't dry down quickly when you layer it which causes the product to crease pretty badly. I was able to work with it to complete the look but the formula didn't allow for a flawless result which you can see when I look down/close eyes. It's also not a breeze to take off. I usually use a makeup eraser or a makeup wipe but neither of these will easily remove the product. You will need an oil cleanser to get it off which kind of frustrated me because I don't have any so I used coconut oil which worked okay then went in with makeup wipe to clean up any remaning product off and proceeded remainder of skin regimen (cleanse/serum/moisturizer). All in all I don't think I would recommend this shadow due to how it performed. This product was provided in exchange for my honest review

Spectacular color and staying power

This special effect multichrome eye shadow is absolutely stunning! The shade galactic red is spectacular, the base color seems to be a smoky greyish purple with top layer of sparkle that changes between red, yellow and green. It is very bold but doesn't look garish or clown like. The doe foot applicator is great and can be used to get tight corners if carefully done. The shadow is very buildable. It does dry fast which is great except for when trying to correct mistake. It doesn't budge for the most part although after a few hours of wear I noticed a little separation in my eye crease but it's only noticeable if I have my eyes fully closed. I am wearing a primer but it's not specifically an eyeshadow primer so perhaps using one might help keep shadow from separating at the crease. I love that not only does it stay put, it doesn't shed glitter down my face! I highly recommend trying these multichrome eyeshadows for a fun and colorful look!

FUN AND COLORFUL

This is a great and fun color. It lasted on my eyes all day and I did not experience any issues applying. I live the metallic colors. We went out for an 80s night and this worked perfectly!

Try it!

This is a very cool product. I tried it both as an under eye accent, and all over my lid. It’s a little difficult to blend, so you’ll want to get it right the first time. However, it is truly chromatic, and is a really cool pop around the eyes.
